The goal of this study was to demonstrate that the shape of UV-Vis extinction spectra caused by light scattering could provide information about the size of nano and microparticles that caused such scattering. This scatter-based particle size estimation was applied to characterize in situ the effective particle size of amorphous colloidal structures that kinetically form in solutions during supersaturation/precipitation transition.
