A biphasic dissolution assay has been developed to measure the partition rate of API’s from an aqueous compartment into an immiscible organic phase in order to mimic the absorption of a compound through biological membranes. To understand how the amorphous solubility may affect absorption, the partition rate of felodipine was measured at concentrations above and below the amorphous solubility.
