Pion, in collaboration with the University of Bath (Randall Mrsny, Ph.D., and Kate Gridley), has recently published a comprehensive study on the robustness of the artificial extracellular matrix used at the core of the SCISSOR instrument (Gomes, Conor, et al., European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics, vol. 199, 2024). In this session, we will explore an "extended release" ECM format and demonstrate how mechanical properties and biomolecule inclusion affect pharmaceutical injectate behavior within a SCISSOR assay.
