Planning, Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager

The Planning, Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for demand planning, production planning analysis, master data management, ERP/MRP configuration, and performance reporting to ensure accurate forecasts, efficient production schedules, and reliable data-driven insights. The successful candidate will collaborate across supply chain, operations, procurement, and IT to balance supply and demand, optimize inventory, and maintain high-quality master data for effective planning.
Essential Functions
Demand Planning
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market insights, and input from sales and marketing.
- Incorporate new product promotions, and business strategies into demand plans.
- Track and improve forecast accuracy; support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities.
Manufacturing Planning & Analysis
- Translate demand forecasts into production, inventory, purchasing and capacity plans that align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Create and maintain production schedules, considering material availability, labor, and equipment capacity.
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify risks, bottlenecks, shortages, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning and scheduling processes.
- Configure and optimize MRP settings and parameters to improve planning effectiveness and responsiveness.
- Maintain an accurate backlog report
Master Data Management
- Maintain planning-related master data in ERP/MRP systems, including BOMs, routings, material masters, and planning parameters.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and governance of planning master data across plants and functions.
- Conduct audits, resolve discrepancies, and support new product introductions (NPI) with accurate data setup.
- Implement and maintain ERP/MRP configurations that support accurate demand, supply, material and inventory planning.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor operational performance, including forecast accuracy, backlog status, service levels, material shortages, capacity utilization, and inventory health.
- Provide management with actionable insights and trend analyses to support decision-making.
- Automate and streamline reporting processes where possible.
Inventory Management
- Configure inventory to ABC inventory count processes.
- Actively manage inventory using automated reorder points by establishing a clear process to ensure replenishment orders are consistently executed, while maintaining inventory levels within defined thresholds (e.g., 80%).
- Oversee and streamline order-related communications, with a particular focus on effectively managing and communicating any changes

Travel
- The position is based in Billerica and requires no travel.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or a related field \
- 5-7 years of experience in demand planning, production planning, or supply chain analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles
