Laboratory Scientist
The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for supporting and executing experimental work to complete analytical service projects, for supporting the development of chemical and biopharmaceutical testing equipment and innovative applications, and for distributing our expertise in the form of demonstrations and training.
Essential Functions
- Support and execute Analytical Service experiments for customer samples.
- Support and execute development projects.
- Participate in maintaining the analytical laboratory.
- Support general lab work by media and reagent preparation.
- Prepare and follow relevant documentation to support Analytical Service operations; SOP, protocols, etc.
- Support development efforts to enhance the hardware and software aspects of Pion equipment.
- Support the global sales effort with customer meetings and demonstrations as required.
- Provide l training courses for end users, channel partners and internal customers.
- Contribute to the safe operation of Pion Analytical laboratories.

Travel
- This position is onsite 100% in our Billerica, MA office
- Requires up to 5% domestic and/or international travel
- Travel may include customer training, attendance at conferences, or training events
Job Requirements
- Ability to travel up to 5%
- Valid driver’s license and passport
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (Biochemistry preferred)
- 1+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with analytical assays
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
Preferred
- Master’s degree in relevant scientific discipline
