Rainbow Dynamic Dissolution Monitor® Patents

The RDDM System utilizes proprietary technology to sample in situ.  These include sampling methods and data acquisition.  More information on these can be found in our patents below.

Dynamic Data Acquisition and Presentation.
p
ION has acquired a US patent protecting the RDDM real-time display of dissolution curves during data collection. This technology gives the user instant feedback on the progress of the dissolution test. This allows the user to quickly spot potential errors in the setup of the experiment or equipment rather than having to wait for results from off-line HPLC analyzers.(US Patent Number 6,558,957)

Hollow Shaft Measurement
pION has acquired a US patent protecting the RDDM method for placing the UV dip probe within the hollow shaft of a USP paddle stirrer. This enables the Rainbow to acquire data without creating hydrodynamic artifacts that may negatively influence dissolution measurements.(US Patent Number 6,174,497)
