Drug Discovery
With as little as 100 micrograms of sample, Gemini Profiler™ can derive a complete solubility-pH profile. This allows you to make solubility an integral part of your optimization program at earlier stages of discovery, by allowing you to experimentally "calibrate" your high-throughput solubility prediction calculations. The result - earlier prediction of oral absorption. Ionization constant, pK_a, determination can be done separately or in conjunction with solubility determination.

Drug Development
For the same effort as a single-pH manual solubility measurement, the Gemini Profiler™ gives you the whole pH range, automatically. Following guidelines consistent with the Biopharmaceutics Classification System BCS), solubility classification is easier. Measurement of solubilities less than 5 ng/mL to 50 mg/mL are possible. Additionally, the effect of bile salts on the solubility of sparingly soluble drugs can be characterized by Gemini Profiler. You will not want to do another shake-flask solubility determination. Ionization constants, pK_a, for sparingly soluble compounds are easily determined using a cosolvent extrapolation method. Multiple pK_as or overlapping pK_as are not a problem for this potentiometric technique.
